Elizabeth Clark            Elizabeth was born in Dallas, Texas.  She began musical studies as a pianist and later became interested in stringed instruments.  At age thirteen, she began cello studies.  She fell in love with the cello the first time she held one in her hands.

Elizabeth has studied with several fine musicians including principal cellists from the following:  the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and the Longview Symphony Orchestra.  She has studied with several acclaimed cellists such as Christopher Adkins, principle cellist of The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and concert cellist Lynn Harrel.  Her enthusiasm and intensity is contagious and she has been referred to as “Having the fire” for music.

In 2002, Elizabeth was awarded the Tyler Music Coterie “Young Musician of the Year” award.  She also was selected to perform in Washington, D.C. with the “VIVA VIVALDI!” All-Girl Orchestra at Kennedy Center.  She has been awarded many full-paid musical scholarships to prestigious universities such as Southern Methodist University, University of Missouri, Kansas City, and North Carolina School of the Arts.

Elizabeth studied music at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler. The Texas cellist shares her love of music with the community. She enjoys sharing her music at churches, schools and hospitals, as well as weddings and social gatherings.  She also performs with the Longview Symphony Orchestra, East Texas Symphony Orchestra and the Shreveport Symphony as one of their youngest members. In the past, she has performed as principal with several youth orchestras.  Elizabeth has begun composing musical scores on commission and plans to record her first album soon.

Elizabeth enjoys every aspect of the musical experience, it is her passion in life, and hopes all who hear beautiful music will be able to experience that feeling as well.
